What is success?

What I thought success was:

  • Being a good daughter.
  • Graduating with honors from the University.
  • Having a high paying job.
  • Getting married before 30.
  • Having kids!
  • Having the latest cellphone, car…
  • Being thin.
  • Being always pretty, looking good.
  • Having things figured out. = Being an adult.
  • Knowing what I’m doing with my life.

What I think success is now:

  • Being true to myself.
  • Having flexibility with what I do with my time.
  • Building a career instead of just having a job.
  • Creating stuff.
  • Being brave to change paths, to create things, to share them.
  • Spending quality time with friends and family.
  • Not judging myself but enjoying being present in my life as it is now.
  • Loving myself enough to take care of myself (because I want to feel good and not just look good).
  • Trusting my timing.
  • Not waiting to know everything before taking action. Figuring things out on the way… going with my way of exploring and failing and exploring again and for it to not mean anything else than a way of living.

Not good, not bad, what is.
NEUTRAL.
Lately this feeling of reaching a neutral state is so latent in my inner experience… SO WEIRD, because I’m such an extremes kind of person… Maybe we can explore that another day 🙂
